Personalized Learning

At World Class Learning Schools, students are placed at the center of teaching and learning. Student needs drive instructional planning, rather than more traditional education methods of teachers, text materials, or curriculum determining what students should be learning.

This type of instruction is effective in addressing the needs of the individual. Because of the diverse, international student population, it is expected that there is a range of familiarity with concepts in a lesson, and teachers personalize the content by designing activities for different groups of students.

Our teachers tailor their instruction and adjust the curriculum to students' needs, rather than expecting students to modify themselves for the curriculum.

Assessment Informs Learning

The first and most important step in this type of instruction is determining what students already know with a thorough assessment that details the knowledge, skills, and understanding of each student. Instructional activities are modified based on the results of these assessments.  Students also assess themselves, learning how to actually articulate the ways in which they learn best.  Teachers present information in a variety of ways based on this input from the child.
